The fluorescence properties of anti-ATP apatmers labeled with a pyrenylmethyl group at the 2′-positin were investigated. The labeling of the nucleoside residue at the stem region adjacent to the ligand-binding pocket gave a fluorescent biosensor having high affinity yet retaining its specificity for ATP.
